The TragerŪ Approach is an innovative movement based bodywork method that incorporates both hands-on and active participation.
Created and developed over a 65 year period by Dr. Milton Trager, this unique methodology was designed to provide deep relaxation reinforced by self-directed movements. Certified practitioners work with individuals using gentle, non-invasive elongations, rocking, swaying and stretching to communicate feelings of ease and freedom to the body and mind. The client is then taught to actively explore these movement concepts for use between sessions whenever old tensions arise. The TragerŪ Approach induces profound relaxation, a deeper understanding of the physical capabilities of the body, and mental clarity.
All sessions are customized to the needs of the individual and consist of both on- and off-table sections. The TragerŪ Approach aids in the release of patterns developed in response to accidents, illnesses, or any kind of physical or emotional trauma, including the stress of everyday life. It is an excellent adjunct to other modalities in helping the nervous system integrate new ways of being. No oils or lotions are used and the client remains dressed for their comfort during sessions.
